Sheet metal processing is sometimes also known as metal plate processing, the word comes from the English platemetal, is generally some metal sheets through manual or die stamping to produce plastic deformation, form the desired shape and size, and can be further through welding or a small amount of mechanical processing to form more complex parts, such as the chimney, iron furnace commonly used in the family. And the shell of the car is all sheet metal.
Sheet metal processing is called sheet metal processing. Specifically, for example, the use of plates to make chimneys, iron barrels, oil tanks, ventilation pipes, elbow sizes, day garden places, funnel shapes, etc., the main process is cutting, bending, bending, welding, riveting, etc., which requires certain geometric knowledge. Sheet metal is sheet metal hardware, that is, parts that can be processed by stamping, bending, stretching and other means, and a general definition is the parts that do not change in thickness during processing. Corresponding to casting parts, forging parts, machining parts, etc., such as the iron shell outside the car is sheet metal parts, and some cabinets made of stainless steel are sheet metal parts.
Generally, the three most important steps in sheet metal processing are cutting, punching/cutting, and folding.
1.1 The first step is the blanking (also called blanking) process. Usually, the field workers will cut the appropriate size of the part material from the large plate through the shearing machine according to the development diagram provided by the technical department. In the case of punches, the dead zone of the clamp must be considered. After cutting, the worker will mark the material number on the surface of each material with a marker.
Note: Some factories do not have this processing step, directly typesetting on the standard plate, and then directly stamping/cutting processing.
1.2 The material is then sent to a CNC punch/cutter for punching/cutting. In this process, Numerical Control (NC) code is required for the parts being machined. Now most machine tool manufacturers will provide automatic programming software (domestic manufacturers almost all cooperate with foreign such software companies for OEM sales, so they do not have their own software research and development team), so it is greatly convenient for programming engineers. Stamping/cutting programming engineers to consider the factors are plate utilization, tools, efficiency, accuracy and other issues. After the stamping/cutting is complete, the parts are removed from the microconnections and then sent to the bending machine for bending.
